Edyta Krzysztofik, PhD

Assistant professor at the Department of International Law and European Union Law
at the Faculty of Law, Canon Law and Administration of the Catholic University
Lublin John Paul II. The scope of scientific interests focuses on three
areas. The first involves research on the nature of EU law and, more precisely, its principles
validity of this legal system. The second area of research concerns the problem, importance and role of the principle of respect for the national identity of Member States in EU law in the political context, but also its impact on the application of EU law in the national legal order. The last area focuses on the problem of human rights protection and the mechanisms and effectiveness of human rights protection. Author of many scientific works in the field of EU law and the effectiveness of international and EU human rights protection systems.


He serves as a member of the editorial committee of: Yearbook of Legal Sciences of the Catholic University of Lublin, Deutsch-
Polnische Juristen Zeitschrift DPJZ, Law and Life - Academy "Stefan cel Mare" of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Facta Universitatis (University of
Niš -Serbia). She participated in many scientific projects (Return migrations: science and
practice, Freedom of movement of persons in the EU, Citizens have the right) and serves as a coordinator in the MEIN project (Definition of marriage in the prism of the doctrine of imperative requirements). He is also a member of research groups within the projects: Effective Law in an Effective State, European Policy of Central European Countries, MIGRA-TEAM. Additionally, he is a member of: the Center for Research on European Migration Law and Policy, the Polish Association of European Union Law, the Polish Society for European Studies.
